Ruth obtained a Bachelor of Science (Zoology, Botany, Ecology and Evolution) with Honours (invasive species management on an Australian tropical island) from Monash University in 2002.

Ruth recently joined Abzeco as an Ecological Consultant in April 2024. Ruth has over 20 years of experience in the environmental industry with 13 of those years working as a zoologist / ecologist in the south-east and northern Australia.  Ruth brings extensive experience in project management, survey techniques and mapping of flora and fauna species and communities, targeted surveys for threatened species and impact assessments associated with a range of industries.

Ruth has a passion for threatened species conservation and invasive species management. She has designed and implemented numerous monitoring programs for threatened and invasive species and developed management plans and strategies. In the north of Australia, Ruth worked closely with indigenous rangers and Traditional Owners to access country, share knowledge, implement monitoring programs and develop management plans. Ruth has also previously worked for Local and State Government agencies and a catchment management authority.

  • Rehabilitation monitoring at Jabiluka and Djarr Djarr, Jabiru, NT (2021-2022).
