Sandra Mijatovic

Sandra completed a Bachelor of Science (Ecology and Sustainability) with Honours in Applied Biology (Plant Taxonomy) at Victoria University in 2009.

Sandra is a botanist with 15 years’ experience in the environmental industry. She holds a Bachelor of Ecology and Sustainability with Honours, with the thesis examining the taxonomy and morphological differences in four native Tobacco (Nicotiana) species in Victoria.  A keen field botanist, Sandra has completed flora assessments across Victoria, most of which involve detailed native vegetation mapping, plant identification and taxonomy, Ecological Vegetation Class identification and survey methodology design.

Sandra has applied her botanical knowledge to various projects, ranging from flora assessments of local Council reserves and private properties to the preparation of vegetation management plans, targeted flora survey reports and general flora and fauna surveys. Her project and botanical experience is complemented by a sound practical understanding of Commonwealth, State and local environmental legislation and policy, including requirements under Victoria’s Flora and Fauna Guarantee Act 1988 (FFG Act) and the Commonwealth Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 (EPBC Act).
