Chris Geary

Chris completed a Master of Science (Geospatial) at Curtin University in 2022 and recently joined Abzeco.

Chris has 10 years experience in field work management. Companies include Darebin, Merri-bek, Hume, Yarra & Whittlesea City Councils, Parks Victoria and Metro Trains Melbourne – project management, works scheduling, development of management plans and grant applications for best-practice ecological restoration projects.   

He is  an Accredited Bushland Regenerator with the Australian Association of Bushland Regenerators (AABR) & voluntary members of the AABR Victoria accreditation sub-committee.  

Chris is an experienced ecological restoration practitioner predominantly in VVP grasslands, grassy woodlands and grassy wetlands, including site management, on site reporting, flora ID, endangered species translocations, flora monitoring, plantings, weed monitoring, seed collection and direct seeding, and weed control using selective herbicides.  

In addition, his experience includes ecological burn planning, coordination and delivery. Chris has participated in and personally led over sixty ecological burns.
