To provide quality environmental and biodiversity advice it is essential to have the broad range of knowledge and experience that Abzeco can offer you.

Abzeco staff understand Federal, State and Local Legislation as well as the policies relevant to biodiversity. We have a great deal of knowledge and experience regarding on ground works and the strategic long-term basis on which Biodiversity Management is achieved.

Our skills in botanical and zoological assessment, surveying, GIS mapping, management planning, interpretative displays, seed collection, vegetation management, planting and protection of threatened flora, salvage and relocation of threatened flora, and precinct planning allow us to provide a holistic approach to developing and implementing biodiversity management strategies.

In any strategy development, consultation is critical to achieve successful biodiversity outcomes. Abzeco is experienced with undertaking stakeholder consultation with a range of government and non-government organisations, landowners, friends groups and other interested parties who often have competing land management and land use objectives and knowledge.

Our approach to developing biodiversity strategies is identifying biodiversity values, discussing threats and opportunities, and prioritising actions to provide maximum biodiversity gain for the available funds. The key is long-term planning that involves ongoing community education and participation, evidence-based methods, and a monitoring program that collects measurable data that can be used to assess if management outcomes are delivering strategy objectives. This must also include independent audits and accountability. Adaptive management is also necessary to maintain current best practice and continual improvement in strategy delivery and biodiversity outcomes.
