
Jack completed a Bachelor of Zoology and Animal Science from Deakin University in 2024. Jack has worked on the Abzeco bush crew to gain on ground vegetation management experience while completing his degree. After completing his degree Jack has been working as a field ecologist/zoologist at Abzeco.
While working with the bush crew, Jack was involved in the management of conservation sites, undertaking weed identification, weed control, planned burns, mowing, brush cutting, seed collection, direct seeding, and planting. This work also included client liaison, budget management, development and implementation of annual work plans, maintaining detailed daily work records and ensuring project goals are met.
Jacks work as a field zoologist/ecologist has included undertaking numerous fauna surveys, pre-clearance surveys and fauna salvage projects and has assisting in flora and fauna surveys.

- Mt Rothwell: Small mammal trapping and microchipping.
- Little Desert: Mist netting for small birds, and small mammal trapping and microchipping.
- Murray-Sunset National Park: Performed pitfall trapping of reptiles.
- Cape Conran: Engaged in fyke netting, small mammal trapping, and the use of trail cameras.
