After 21 years building Abzeco into the thriving ecological consulting business it is today, Richard Francis is moving on to new adventures.

From the very beginning, Richard shaped Abzeco with his innovative ideas, curiosity, and determination. Under his guidance, Abzeco has become a trusted partner to public and private conservation land managers, government agencies, timber plantation owners, developers, councils, and many private clients — delivering specialist ecological and land management advice across the state.  Thank you for your time and effort.

Richard hand-picked and mentored the talented team that continues to carry his passion for ecology and practical problem-solving. Four years ago, PF Olsen began talking with Richard about acquiring Abzeco, and ownership was officially transferred two years later. Since then, Richard has continued to support the business — but now he’s ready to put his energy into new projects, including plans for a bespoke brewery!

The Abzeco and PF Olsen teams recently came together to celebrate Richard — sharing stories of his inventive thinking, vast knowledge, determination, remote rescues, ferocious dog chases, and of course, the legendary Richard’s Army.
